So I’m looking through the press releases sent via e-mail and one of them happens to be from the Polish outfit Movie Games. It’s for American Motorcycle Simulator… a game about traveling from Chicago to Los Angeles across 2,448 miles on a two-wheeled motor-beast. Originally I thought it was going to be kind of a lame mechanic-style sim, but it turns out to be a sim based on a slice of Americana, complete with hardcore bikers, wide open roads, and strip clubs.
Yes, you take on the role of a burly, straight white male traveling across America on pure metal muscle trapped between your thighs and pavement beneath the burning rubber of your wheels. It’s the kind of manly game we used to get back in the day before the American game development culture was overrun with soy boys and beta male simps trying to suck up to landwhales and mentally deranged Twitter users with pronouns in their profile.
You can get a glimpse of what American Motorcycle Simulator is like with the announcement trailer below.
While the main character looks like he drunk one too many beers, the gameplay is kind of an interesting mix of mini-games and road based traveling.
You have to maintain your motorcycle’s upkeep by changing out parts, replacing tires, and keeping your beauty fueled.
And speaking of beauties… there are plenty of strip joints to hit up as well, where you get to see chicks prancing around on stage in thongs, heels, and little else.
By all accounts this is definitely a game for chads.
You get to help some damsels in distress as their vehicle is broken down by the side of the road, or get drunk with the fellas and throw some darts or shoot some pool.
If you cross the wrong guy you’ll find yourself in a parking lot brawl where you’ll have to prove your more brawn than brains, or manage stability on the road while dealing with icy weather and slick lanes.
I’ll be honest, some parts of this reminds me of that terrible game Ride To Hell: Retribution, but without the corny sex scenes and shootouts.
However, if the motorcycle controls are solid and the mini-games aren’t janky, I could easily see this becoming a niche fan-favorite.
The full game will feature over 100 different motorcycle parts to upgrade or swap out for your ride, as well as 50 different gas stations to visit, and more than 30 motels, strip clubs, and bars where you can schmooze or hang out.
You can learn more about American Motorcycle Simulator by visiting the Steam store page as it preps for release on PC.
