My.Games Will Continue Supporting Its PC Client My.Games Store Throughout 2020

It looks like the Russian company behind My.Games is still in the business to compete with other clients like Valve’s Steam, Ubisoft’s Uplay, Epic’s Epic Games Store, Electronic Arts’ Origin, CD Projekt Red’s GOG, and any other PC client out in the wild. Additionally, this will be done through the PC client My.Games Store throughout the year 2020.

There’s no denying that every other year, there’s another fish in the sea looking to bring its “unique” spin to the games industry. Two years ago, gamers got to witness Epic unleash the Epic Games Store, bringing with it many things like timed exclusivities.

Nevertheless, Epic’s PC client isn’t the only place promoting digital distribution (much like Steam and the others) seeing that My.Games wants to bolster support for My.Games Store.

Although we haven’t heard or seen anything as of recent regarding My.Games Store’s policy on ecchi content, 18+ games, and other titles shunned/banned by current year standards, we do know that My.Games wants to help its store throughout this year:

“We have a full pipeline of releases for the year ahead that will appeal to the European and US video game markets. This will include a new console gaming project from the Warface franchise launching Q2 2020, as well as one new mobile title from Pixonic studio. We’ll continue to develop our international gaming platform, MY.GAMES Store, which launched in open beta at the end of 2019.”

The above information comes from My.Games’ CEO, Vasiliy Maguryan, as found on my.games/news.

Right now, My.Games Store is in open beta. No word has surfaced on how long it will stay in this phase, but here’s a somewhat lengthy description by one of the devs on what you can expect from the storefront:

“MY.GAMES Store is a gaming platform that compiles all kinds of computer games. The collection is growing all the time, and today our extensive catalog can find hundreds of games, new releases and time-tested hits that have already won the hearts of millions. When composing our catalog, we always kept the tastes of the players in mind. MY.GAMES Store has games from genres like action, strategy, simulator, builder, shooter, MMORPG, RPG and so on. We made room for online and offline casual games — amusing sandboxes, card games, and vibrant fantasy adventures.

Our gaming platform is designed to interest not only players, but developers too: any studio can position their project in the MY.GAMES Store catalog. We have almost no limitations on genre or game type: F2P projects and premium games are both allowed. At the same time, the MY.GAMES Store is international: every game in our catalog can be seen by users from every corner of the globe. If you are looking for a modern, easy-to-use platform to publish and distribute your product, our catalog is just the thing for you!”

Lastly, I wonder how long the heads behind this client will keep up the “any studio can post any genre or any game type” mantra before cracking down on games that trigger SJWs?
