There have been quite a few leaks about Resident Evil 8 over the last few months. From werewolves to hallucinations, the latest game appeared to be introducing radically new elements to the series. Now long term Resident Evil leaker AestheticGamer1 has seemingly confirmed it will indeed do exactly that while pissing off the established customer base.
Without providing any real details he has indicated that the game will indeed be a radical departure from series tradition leaving many of the people who actually play Resident Evil quite irate over the changes. This comes amid a series of damage control for the remake of Resident Evil 3 following the revelation 2/5s of the game has been removed, the story is progressive garbage, and the game’s action simply isn’t satisfying to action fans or anyone who was a fan of the remake of Resident Evil 2. Thus it is entirely possible he is overreacting during a time of stress after he went woke and lost a lot of followers as a result.
For those curious the areas cut from the game include: The Park, the Clock Tower, The Dead Factory, and the Pharmacy, effectively nixing 2/5s of the original games run time while replacing it with absolutely nothing.
(1/3)Ah what the Hell, I’ll tease a bit more about this 2021 RE game & then not talk deeper about it until a bit after RE3 is out. The 2021 RE game started development in late 2016, by the time it releases it’ll have been in development for 4-4.5 years (been in dev at the moment

for about for about 3-3.5 years). It’s development is very similar to the original Resident Evil 3, not the remake, but I won’t expand on what I mean by that until later. The announcement for it will be really soon, and it’s by far the biggest departure the series has ever taken,
(3/3) to the point I expect a lot of people will be pissed off about it when it gets revealed, but they should be open minded. Internal testing and the like show it’s high quality game, and I’m quite excited for it.
Later after getting blowback, he would go on to clarify that the game won’t be chasing trends. It’ll just be a “good game” that isn’t a good Resident Evil game because the same test groups that greenlit Resident Evil 3 remake said so. A source as trustworthy as the Chinese on anything involving Covid-19.
I’ll also clarify something about Resident Evil 2021; The “biggest departure” and “some fans will be pissed” comments is not because the game is chasing modern trends, IE it’s not a Looter Shooter, Battle Royale game or any thing like that. It’s a lot stranger than that.

One has to ask if this game is so good, why isn’t it spun off into its own series? Why aren’t the developers like the developers of old then given complete freedom to shape it into its own thing? Perhaps its because it’s not a good game and desperately needs the Resident Evil name to move copies.
With Resident Evil 3 hype dying even among its more ardent hype train riders, it will be curious to see what Capcom will do with a new entry that is sure to “piss off” paying customers. Right now they have the casual audience, but as Nintendo learned with the Wii, they are as fickle as the wind and you do not have them long.
