Neil Druckmann Says The Last Of Us: Part 2 Is The Team's Most Ambitious Work As The Game Goes Gold

The Last of Us: Part 2 has gone gold, and is still set to launch on June 19th, 2020. In other words, the game is gearing up for worldwide consumption now that it’s ready to be shipped for PS4 consoles.

As noted above, The Last of Us: Part 2 has gone gold, and if you don’t know what that means, it is a term that refers to a complete project out of development. Additionally, Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dogs’ vice president, has announced this news on Instagram.

Our own @druckmann has some exciting news to share about The Last of Us Part II…

In case you can’t view the Instagram video, Druckmann noted that Naughty Dog — from home — has finished up the project during this pandemic.

Druckmann also highlights how said pandemic has prevented the team from celebrating together at the studio.

In addition to the above, Druckmann touches on the recent leaks and notes that folks that have been spoiled should know that “nothing compares to playing” the full game since it’s Naughty Dogs’ most ambitious title.

The last time we’ve heard from Druckmann was when he expressed how “heartbroken” he was over the leaks and how he hoped “fans” were still excited enough to buy the controversial sequel. However, he doesn’t want sexist, racist, bigots buying the game according to an Instagram story.

And lastly, Sony and Druckmann will comment on the leaks after The Last of Us: Part 2 releases for PS4 on June 19th, 2020. And speaking of the game’s release, it’ll be interesting to see how the next installment in The Last of Us series performs on the market when the UK Sales Chart, the U.S. NPD Group, and Famitsu issue out their data, especially after Sony and Naughty Dog copyright struck a bunch of content creators.
