Bethesda is looking to release Starfield as a next-gen title. Although very little is know about the space sci-fi game, we do know that a recent USK German rating display is nothing more than a glitch per Pete Hines — Bethesda’s SVP of global marketing and communications.
For those of you who are out of the loop or curious about Starfield, know that it will come out first. This means we’ll hear about Starfield’s promotional material and public release sooner than anything about The Elder Scrolls VI.
After Starfield, Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios will shift all attention/work over to The Elder Scrolls VI. In other words, the announcements of the two next-gen games paved a road-map as to what Bethesda Game Studios will bring fans moving forward. Additionally, this means that fans out of the loop now know that Starfield will come first, followed by The Elder Scrolls VI.
With that said, not too long ago, website dsogaming.com picked up on a conversation that Hines had with a YouTuber regarding Starfield’s 18+ rating. The conversation started because the USK mostly rates a video game when its development is complete.
In addition to the above, Hines claims that the USK rating for the game is a glitch since he was unaware of the situation:
wasn’t aware, but it’s just a glitch or a bug on the site. i’ll ask them to look into it and get it fixed. thanks for the heads-up

Moreover, we do know that Starfield is in a playable state thanks to an E3 interview that Todd Howard and Geoff Keighley had on June 11th, 2018.
Highlights of the E3 2018 interview regarding Howard and Keighley underline that Starfield is a “single-player focused” game and that it will not feature a shared world where you can see other players. Additionally, Starfield is in production right now, and the devs can playtest the title in question — as mentioned above.
Lastly, Starfield has no release date nor an official rating right now. However, the space sci-fi game will release across PC and next-gen home consoles in the foreseeable future.
