Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Tops The UK Charts

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has taken the UK Charts top spot while other games on the list such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trail behind the newly released definitive edition of the 2010 RPG.

After releasing for the Switch on May 29th, 2020, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition came out the gates swinging in that the RPG is now at the top of the UK Charts, beating out Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and the infamous Grand Theft Auto V.

The above information comes from website gamesindustry.biz, which said site outlines the following data only counts boxed game sales and not downloads (like from the Nintendo eShop or any digital client).

It’s also worth noting that the report makes mention of Animal Crossing: New Horizons slipping from first place to second after three consecutive weeks at the top. This means the Switch exclusive has fallen 50% in sales week-over-week.

Moreover, the website notes that Minecraft Dungeons is a missing entry on the following chart due to Microsoft releasing the game as a digital download. In other words, you won’t see it below since there are no boxed sales to count.

With all of that said, you can check out all ten games ranking from top to bottom for the week ending May 30th right here:

Last Week This Week Games
New 1 Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
1 2 Animal Crossing: New Horizons
3 3 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

5 5 FIFA 20
Re-entry 6 Days Gone
9 7 Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
11 8 Minecraft – Switch

It’s worth noting that the first number represents last week’s placement. The second number serves as this week’s placement, while “New” stands for a new entry. Also, “Re-entry” means that a game has made a return on the above list.

Right now, the Switch exclusive known as Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has been out ever since May 29th, 2020.
