The Seventh Sign -Mr. Sister- Banned From Steam

Sekai Project and Sweet & Tea’s The Seventh Sign -Mr. Sister- has been banned from Steam. The game was originally added to Steam’s database back in February of 2020, but as of June 12th, 2020, the game has been banned.

One of the employees for Sekai Project tweeted about the ban. Originally Dobacco tweeted out back on June 8th, 2020 that they had submitted the app store for review by Valve’s staff, but four days later the game was banned.

If you head over to the SteamDB entry for The Seven Sign-Mr. Sister-, you’ll be greeted with the following message…

“This app has been deleted or is hidden to the public. SteamDB has seen data for this app before, so for historic purposes it has been kept visible on this page, and may be out of date.”

The date of the ban in the Steam database also coincides with Dobacco’s tweet. Both show June 12th, 2020.

We also know that The Seventh Sign was one of the visual novels that Sekai Project had picked up for an English release, given that they had tweeted out that they were 60% done with the translation back on July 4th, 2019.

So why was it banned? Likely due to the fact that the visual novel features a loli, and even if a visual novel is not set in a school, simply having a loli in your game will make it susceptible for a ban.

Some Centrists™ have long stated that Valve wasn’t banning games from Steam, only removing “illegal” software, but obviously that isn’t the case here.

It’s quite obvious some ideologically driven staffers at Valve are going out of their way to ban certain titles, but people refuse to recognize and listen to what’s happening, so this will continue to happen.

I attempted to reach out to ask Dobacco about whether or not they would be resubmitting the game for approval, but he has me blocked on Twitter.

It’s possibly because we added Sekai Project to the Traitors of America master list for siding with the undesirables ruining the nation at the moment.

Anyway, instead of banding together and putting Valve in their place, developers, localizers, and publishers would rather make enemies out of the people trying to help them.

Regardless, The Seventh Sign -Mr. Sister- has now joined the ever-growing list of banned games on the Waifu Holocaust list.
