The Last Of Us: Part 2 Tops UK Charts While Sales Drop 53 Percent Week-Over-Week

The UK Charts for the week ending July 4th, 2020, has arrived and showcases the top ten games so far. The Last of Us: Part 2 remains at the top spot but sales have dropped 53 percent week-over-week. However, Marvel’s Iron Man VR enters as a new entry followed by third-place, which is Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The unholy trinity (that is Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and FIFA 20) are on this week’s list. The three games aren’t in the top three, but they’re still lingering around like any other week.

As for the new entry on this week’s list is Marvel’s Iron Man VR, which claims second place on the chart. Although the VR title is said by website gamesindustry.biz to have performed well, it did not do well enough to dethrone the infamous sequel to The Last of Us:

Last Week This Week Games
1 1 The Last of Us Part 2
New 2 Marvel’s Iron Man VR
5 3 Animal Crossing: New Horizons
2 4 Bravely Second: End Layer
8 5 Grand Theft Auto V
10 6 Minecraft (Switch)
11 7 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
6 8 FIFA 20
14 9 Luigi’s Mansion 3
4 10 Ring Fit Adventure

As always, the first number represents last week’s placement. The second number serves as this week’s placement, while “New” stands for a new entry on the above list. Although it’s not here, “Re-entry” means a title that has returned on the top ten list.

It’ll be interesting to see how the week-over-week sales fair for The Last of Us: Part 2 moving forward. Seeing that the game has faced yet another drop, time will tell if the game will stay afloat and remain in the top spot or drop to an uncanny position against its non-triple-A competition.

Moreover, the U.S. NPD Group will go up with its sales figure on July 17th, 2020. In the meantime, you can see all 40 games by paying ukie.org.uk a visit.
