Oh, how civil discourse has become interesting recently. Following a leaked screenshot, subsequent denial from Goodyear, followed by leaked audio proving the denial a lie, Goodyear was exposed as actively discriminating against police, conservatives, heterosexuals, and even white Americans. This, at long last, sparked conservatives and the right to finally acknowledge that they are in a culture war, where supporting those that actively are against you is a terrible idea.
Calls for a Goodyear boycott did not originate from a grassroots level, as most get woke, go broke instances do. This time, Donald Trump took to Twitter to initiate calls for the Boycott of Goodyear and has been terminating Goodyear’s government contracts.
Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!).

That the boycott originated on a national level from Trump himself has sparked a discussion over whether people should boycott or not. Or rather it has caused conservatives to realize they need to get engaged in this culture war and leftists to attempt to use tactics from rules for radicals to convince them otherwise.
Settling this debate is easy. Yes, you should be boycotting products, services, or companies that actively work against your interests, beliefs, etc. On a fundamental level, you have to ask yourself what is more important to you: Standing by your principles that you have formed over a lifetime or consuming some product?
For many, they’ll just consume. Hell, Wonder Woman 1984 is an attack against Trump and Capitalism according to the creators, and people are still going to consume it despite being against political interjection.
At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself if you want to be like that. As people often ask, why do companies cater to leftists as much as they do even though it costs them so much money in the long run? Setting aside the complex issue of hijacking, woke employees, and subversion, the question is simple to boil down.
The left will vocally organize to not purchase a company’s product, damage their reputation, and even get people fired. They’ll use their influence in the media to write smear piece after smear piece. They’ll whip people into a frenzy, and even protest your very existence until you capitulate. Whereas their opposition in the center will argue it is wrong to descend to their level, and the right is more preoccupied with looking tolerant.
When faced with this reality, a lot of companies know going woke is going to destroy their business, but it’s either that or face the wrath of the mafia. When you vocally make it known that you, the paying customer, are not going to purchase a product with other paying customers that changes. If the company sees a downturn in profit, the investors will want to know why the executives sided with non-customers over customers. People then lose their job, or the business goes bust if they’re not going to act like a business.
Will companies like Goodyear survive these boycotts? Potentially, but the employees, executives, and managers who pushed for this won’t. People say boycotts don’t work, but Procter and Gamble took a three billion dollar loss after Gillette lost eight billion in revenue. Right now, one of the company’s CEOs just dumped $2.4 million of his shares.
Boycotting works, and companies know it. They’re terrified of it because even when it doesn’t have the success the people want it to, it does impact the perception of the product costing them sales. Be vocal, stand your ground, and boycott away.
