She-Ra’s Androgynous Re-Imagining Leaves Fans Glum And SJWs Happy

Social Justice Warriors have this fascination with stripping women of their feminity in order to make them appear androgynous and man-like. That’s the general gist behind the re-imagining for Netflix’s upcoming She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, which is being headed up by lesbian cartoonist, Noelle Stevenson.

Entertainment Weekly managed to get the exclusive on the project, showcasing some of the first images of She-Ra. The main character of the show is Adora, who is captured at birth by villains and raised under their tutelage. She eventually has an epiphany and must choose her fate and which side she will fight for.

Adora has the ability to transform into She-Ra, much like how her twin brother Adam can transform into He-Man.

Both She-Ra and He-Man were popular in the 1980’s for being stylized depictions of cosmic heroes; strong, buff, sexy and beautiful.

The new She-Ra is anything but sexy or idealized. In fact, it appears as if she’s been designed to look like a trans-man cosplaying as She-Ra.

Much like Captain Marvel, the design for She-Ra has been altered to remove her curves, reduce her feminine shape by giving her broad shoulders, man arms, no breasts, stubby legs, no hips, and bike shorts under her skirt. She looks more like a pretty young man in his 20s than an idealized pretty young woman.

Check out the comparison below.

The cosmos wept.

According to Stevenson this isn’t just about subverting She-Ra’s traditional beauty standards, it’s also about pushing for a mostly all female cast and ensuring that there’s no white guys as leading members of the cast, as evident with a photo of the voice cast below.

Stevenson told EW…

“I was really interested in finding what my next project would be, and finding something epic, serialized, action-adventure, fantasy, sci-fi…all of the things I wanted to do. [She-Ra] has this majority female cast, it’s centered around a female hero, it’s got rainbows and it’s got robots, it’s got everything I like in one place.”

On social media most fans of the original aren’t too pleased with seeing a popular female heroine that used to represent beauty and femininity being turned into an androgynous looking boy.

These SJWs can’t comprehend: WE HAVE KIDS. We’re parents. We care about what subversive bullshit they’re trying to molest our kids with. https://t.co/TVTSJJTSET

The push back from the original audience has typically brought the Social Justice Warriors out of the woodwork to defend the property and the design decision.

if you talk shit about she-ra you’re talking shit about the thing like 50% of my friend group has been busting their asses on since forever so i am pretty intolerant of the bad takes on this one

Anyway this show looks amazing and I’m so glad that kids will have both the classic 80’s version AND the 2018 version to enjoy (and if you’re a 40+ dude maybe just, watch one of the THOUSANDS of properties made just for you and leave this one alone) 🌈✨ https://t.co/zEyNPwxi25

I think the response by some that the new design of She-Ra (which looks great, imo) isn’t feminine enough is an indictment of how as a society we narrowly define women by a few attributes.

Girls come in all shapes and sizes, and all should be celebrated/represented.

As is typical with most news of this kind, Twitter has prioritized the SJW crowd’s voice to the top of the trend for She-Ra, ensuring that when most normal people click on the link they’ll see people from the far-Left criticizing fans for not liking the new design of She-Ra, and talking down to anyone who isn’t adhering to the groupthink.

In American news, adult men are complaining that She-Ra, a children’s cartoon woman with a flying horse and a magic sword, isn’t hot enough for them to jerk off to.

The She-Ra announcement is great because
1) It looks really awesome
2) I get to see actual adult men complain that a drawing of a lady made for children isn’t making their pee pee go hard like that’s a valid criticism and something totally normal to admit on social media

Sad little boy mad that cartoon for little girls doesn’t give him a boner. pic.twitter.com/xwZNSyEL4w

Ahhhh I love the new She-Ra design! And I see manbabies already upset that the children’s cartoon isn’t sexy enough for them 🙃🙃🙃 pic.twitter.com/KrERp0R2Cl

i see we’re moving on from “ugh why does leia have force powers” to “ugh why doesn’t she-ra have titties”

Basically, if aren’t into the fringe Left’s non-binary depiction of characters, you’re ridiculed for it.

Some fans have been posting images of the old She-Ra statues and figurines to remind people that she used to actually look like a woman.

That’s how I would like She-Ra to be. Epic and metal. Ready to kick ass. pic.twitter.com/MqUAQRvDhw

This is just more of a continued trend to essentially transform the identity of women in media into androgynous flesh-blobs, while making them look more masculine and less appealing to most normal people out there.

These sorts of designs are common place in gaming these days, where women are depicted with strong jawlines, stocky builds, and masculine features, resulting in many of them looking like men in drag.

Cartoons have been going down this route for a while now, and anyone who objects to it are shouted down by the Social Justice Warrior mob.

Of course, the trend of “getting woke” in entertainment media has had the effect of many studios going “broke”. Cliffy B., learned that the hard way with the poor-selling Lawbreakers. Volition Software also encountered an identical fate with the “Progressive” failure that was Agents of Mayhem. Disney also found out that taking a dump on your fans isn’t the wisest move when Solo: A Star Wars Story tanked. Marvel Comics also suffered a similar fate, with the company having to cancel a number of poor selling comic books that were heavily pushing SJW-style propaganda.

We’ll see how well She-Ra and the Princesses of Power does when it launches on November 16th exclusively for Netflix.
