The ecchi-charged property from Neko Works is making the leap from a serialized visual novel franchise to a fully animated cartoon set to air in Japan across multiple networks starting sometime in January, 2020. This is separate from the Kickstarted anime OVA that was funded by gamers back in 2016.
Sankaku Complex picked up the news from a tweet made by the official Nekopara anime account on November 10th, 2019, as part of the BICAF 2019 event, where they revealed the window in which the anime would be airing.

The anime is set to air across Tokyo MX, BS11, and AT-X.
Expect the initial airings to be censored and for the Blu-ray release to contain all the uncensored material, which is typically how this kind of content is handled in Japan.
The show will follow the catgirls from the visual novels as they run a pastry shop and encounter all the hijinks that come along with it. You can check out the promotional trailer for the animated series below.
It will be interesting to see if Steam will stock the anime episodes for Nekopara, or if they’ll force you to have to acquire them elsewhere? After Valve got rid of movie and anime selections from their library, it’s unlikely that the Nekopara TV show will be made available via their digital library. Then again, some games still have their accompanying anime movies/series available for viewing on Steam, so maybe they’ll make it available once the English dub becomes available?
In any case, you can look forward to the anime for Nekopara to air this upcoming January in Japan. Expect a localized version to arrive some time thereafter.
The Nekopara games are currently available on Steam, Denpasoft, the PS4, and the Nintendo Switch.
