Hiring people based on their capacity to do the job has fallen greatly out of fashion for the left. What is all the rage today is diversity hiring, so you can signal to your friends how magnanimous you are helping those far beneath you who otherwise wouldn’t qualify for the job.
Keeping with the times, but not the conventional thesis, Brendan Greene, aka “PlayerUnknown”, aka the man behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, spoke on the need to further target women in education to drive them into coding. Not to facilitate an organic growth of an industry, but to aid people like himself in achieving a 50/50 employment split.
Speaking at the View Conference Greene eventually went on to bemoan his inability to discriminate in his hiring practices.
“We cannot tell a recruiter that we want a particular type of person. We will give them a job description, and we will tell them ‘this is the kind of team we’re building’, but we can’t tell them we want a diverse selection of people.
Continuing, he relents that the disparity in his recruitment results not from just a limited pool of female applicants, but from the one’s he receives being under qualified for the position. Any reasonable person would lay the blame for this at the feet of the educational facilities and demand they increase their academic rigor to produce people who can perform the job they paid to learn. Rather than take the logical approach, Greene believes the solution is to convince women when they’re young to enter these educational facilities so that they can become more readily qualified, saying…
“You try and try, but I’m reliant on the CVs that I get through the door… And the quality of the candidates we get is not at the stage we want. It sucks, but we are trying.”
How his solution will do anything other than create unnecessary bloat from employees incapable of performing their job and resolve the capabilities of female applicants I cannot say. Then again it is unlikely he himself has thought through his virtue signaling idea.
As a reminder these people are not the altruists they try to portray themselves as. Inevitably they are either attempting to hide their sexual deviancy or they are looking to capitalize on the various Work Opportunity Credits that give you additional tax relief if you are hiring minorities and women. As the rule of power state, hide greed and self interest behind altruism.
“It’s fine wanting these diverse standards now, but unfortunately there just isn’t that diverse a work-pool to draw from. We have to start earlier. We have to start getting out there and contacting education, and changing it at that level.
“And then, hopefully, in a few years we’ll start seeing the results from that. But it’s a challenge.”
Nevermind what women actually might want to do with their lives.
It doesn’t matter if women don’t find coding or game design interesting.
They must sacrifice their happiness to appease these individuals who — by their own admission — want to deprive the most applicable the job they’ve earned because of the sexual organ between their legs.
Somehow today telling women how to live their lives and shaming them if they want to make alternative choices while openly discriminating against men is “stunning” and “brave”.
