"Healthy China 2030" Seeks To Limit Violence, Sex, And Gambling In Video Games

I’m sure most of you are thinking, “This will be restricted to China, right?” Well, seeing how many companies Tencent has a stake in and given how many Chinese boot-licking companies are out there, expect this new initiative billed as “Healthy China 2030” to not only stifle violence, sex, and gambling in said country but to spill out into others as well.

Website gamesindustry.biz has a report up covering the latest move by the Chinese government, which may result in a “further crackdown” on games and live-streams containing content such as “violent or pornographic material.”

Furthermore, the website in question notes that the “Healthy China 2030” initiative is taking shape to act as a push to improve Chinese “mental health” through various measures affecting schools, mental health organizations, counseling, and educational initiatives.

This program also is backed by plans for the “reduction of violent and pornographic content” that is said to be causing an increase in “mental disorders” among the youth.

In addition to the above, the website points out that in one section of the initiative, it calls for “increased supervision of online content” and “video games.” Additionally, a crackdown is advised to take place on such interactive entertainment that includes “online gambling, bloody violence, and pornography.”

Seeing the Chinese legislators behind this linking “violence and sex” to mental illness and given that the World Health Organization (WHO) adding “gaming addiction” as a disorder to the ICD-11 Index, get ready for more woke and restrictive boring trash to spread around the games industry.

Furthermore, this program is being backed by 12 different government branches that includes the National Health Commission, the Publicity Department, and the National Radio and Television Administration.

Lastly, the above-mentioned groups believe that the “Healthy China 2030” program will further better their plans in “improving the mental well-being of children and adolescents.”
