DDS Translation has shut down their Twitter account and apparently the only version of the fan-translation for Goemon 3 being offered on Romhacking.net is the censored version made to accommodate the screechers and howlers from RersetEra and Twitter.
NicheGamer picked up the story following the revelation that Romhacking.net offered two versions of the Goemon 3 English patch; one was the uncensored version that was true to the nature of the original outing and a second version was censored to accommodate the whims of the perpetually offended.
There was a line in the game that read…
“I’m actually a tranny… Should I tell my boyfriend the truth?”
The patch changed “tranny” to “newhalf” to quell harassment from Social Justice Warriors who were offended over the language.
The original translator, Tom, apologized and said he was stepping away from the translation scene. A few days ago he then deleted his Twitter account, Retro Translator.
Now it’s been revealed that DDS Translation, the person helping Tom with the translation patch, has also stepped away from the scene by deleting their Twitter account.

It’s odd because DDS Translation, unlike Tom, held their ground and said that they didn’t like ResetEra and weren’t going to bend the knee to them.
According to NicheGamer, things apparently changed after the submission reviewer at Romhacking.net, Glen Nilsson, contacted Tom and DDS Translation shortly before their accounts went kaput.
@RetroTranslator Hi Tom, I’m reaching out on behalf of @romhackingnet staff. Could you direct message me. I just need to have a quick discussion with you and get us all on the same page 😊

Nilsson contacted Tom on January 29th, 2020, and then later contacted DDS Translation shortly before they nuked their account on February 8th, 2020.
@DDSTranslation Hi there. I’m a representative and staff member of @RomHackingNet
Could you follow me back so we can DM. There are some thing I’d like to discuss with you. Cheers!— Glen Nilsson (@Shade_Aurion) February 8, 2020
According to the report, if you visit Romhacking.net, patch version 4.0 that was released on February 8th, the day that Nilsson contacted DDS Translation, made it where there’s no longer an option to play the uncensored version of the patch, and that the default patch is now the censored version of the fan-translation.
The actual readme doesn’t state that the latest version is “censored”, but rather that it “reverts a word back to Japanese”.
It seems pretty obvious what happened here, with Romhacking.net taking the side of the SJWs and DDS Translation likely calling it quits in result.
Of course only DDS Translation and Nilsson know exactly what happened and DDS Translation is no longer on social media.
Thankfully, in the NicheGamer comment section user BPMΩ offered a link to a Google Drive link containing the original uncensored version of the fan-translation for Goemon 3.
