Tribe Nine Trailer Teases Futuristic Baseball-Themed Battle Game

A new cinematic trailer for the upcoming Tribe Nine was released, featuring a look at what gamers can likely expect from the new project. Unfortunately details on the platforms that the game will release on or even when the game will release.

The trailer was published in the middle of February and it clocks in at just under two minutes.

It starts with two cocky kids, one with a floating ball and one with a wicked bat and mean motorcycle. From there it looks like the whole scenario plays out like some kind of Dragon Ball baseball. You can check out the trailer below, courtesy of Gamespot.

When the kid with the white hair lobs the refugee anal bead at the cocky bat-wielding kid, it all turns into an explosive sporting event where the impact sends the surrogate cue ball sprawling through the sky and into and out of several skyscrapers before being caught by another kid.

Eventually the ball is tossed back to the white-haired kid and a short battle ensues where the redhead with the cool bike makes short work of some guns before facing off head-to-head with the boy in charge of the lonely anal bead.

According to the Gamespot description the game is being made in collaboration between Shuuhei Yamaguchi and Kazutaka Kodaka. Yamaguchi hails from Akatsuki while Kodaka comes form Too Kyo Games.

Tribe Nine

According to Siliconera, there was an interview that the developers had with Famitsu where they revealed that the game will contain sports-battles between the characters in highly stylized environments, just as it’s depicted in the cinematic trailer above.

The idea is that gangs have run amok throughout Tokyo using baseball-themed fighting techniques to battle each other, and so players will partake in these epic battles throughout the districts in the city.

Tribe Nine is a long ways off from release, though, and you can count the cinematic trailer more as a proof of concept rather than what’s to come down the pipeline. Why do I say that? Because they’re still hiring artists for the game and they have no release slate in sight for the pre-registration phase.

You can keep an eye on the game or if you’re an anti-SJW developer attempt to get recruited onto the development team by visiting the official website. But honestly? You need to leave the recruiting for actual Japanese so you don’t disrupt their culture.
