Despite Animal Crossing: New Horizons boasting a lesbian reference, having butchered English localization, and Brie Larson promoting the game, it has topped the UK sales chart along with Doom: Eternal.
Well, it looks like Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the fastest-selling single Switch game ever as per gamesindustry.biz, which means that the game is doing well as of this writing — and that’s not including digital units.
Coming in second place is Bethesda Softworks and id Software’s Doom: Eternal. The sequel to the 2016 reboot sits right behind Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons, while at the same time keeping Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in third place, and the infamous FIFA 20 in fourth.
If you want to see the top ten games ending the week of March 12th, 2020, then all you have to do is look right here:
- | New Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- | New Doom: Eternal
- | 4 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- | 5 FIFA 20
- | 2 Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
- | 6 Grand Theft Auto V
- | 12 Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
- | 14 Forza Horizon 4
- | 24 Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled
- | 14 Red Dead Redemption 2
As always, the first number represents this week’s placement. The second number serves as last week’s placement, while “New” stands for a new entry on the list.
Other notable mentions happen to be Mario Kart 8: Deluxe coming in fifth, the notorious Grand Theft Auto V placing in sixth place, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy holding down seventh, Forza Horizon 4 finishing in eighth, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled tagging behind said racing game, while Red Dead Redemption 2 makes a comeback on the UK sales chart in last.
Looking back at last week’s chart, Nioh 2 did not stand a chance and could only hold the top spot for one week until Animal Crossing: New Horizons took its place.
In the meantime, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for the Switch. Also, Doom: Eternal is available to pick up across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
