Remember, light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak — that is assuming their obtuse actions aren’t loader than their words. In this case, when a curious user asked a Guerrilla Games dev if the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn will feature a FOV slider, the dev notes that there won’t be one because it will ruin the “experience” and “visuals style.”
PC gamers like options, and there’s nothing wrong with options since choices grant users the ability to upgrade hardware, games, and fine-tune other things to achieve a specific setup.
In addition to the above, there are other things that go into gaming on PC, but the gift that is options is always better than being locked out and denied custom alterations.
Well, according to a Guerrilla Games dev by the name “Anne,” we learn that some of the PS4 restrictive ways are coming to PC — along with the SJW content in the game — that won’t allow folks to change the FOV in an attempt to preserve the game’s “experience” and “visuals style.”
With that said, here’s the dev’s response to the curious user that wanted to know if Horizon Zero Dawn for PC will have a FOV slider:
If you can’t see the above image, here’s a written version of her response:
“We will add several ways to customize your settings for Horizon Zero Dawn for PC. However, we feel that changing the FOV compromises the original Horizon Zero Dawn experience and visual style too much, so you will not be able to change this.”
I bet this is the type of game that will release on PC with a boatload of problems — that modders will likely have to fix — without letting you turn off lens-flare, bloom, chromatic aberration, and motion blur in-game. However, we’ll see how the final version of Horizon Zero Dawn pans out at launch.
Speaking of Horizon Zero Dawn‘s launch, the Complete Edition will release for PC via Steam this summer.
