There are rumors that have great potential to be true but just aren’t worth putting much stock in. On January 14th one such leak originated on 4chan from a self-proclaimed Konami employee regarding what is currently transpiring at the company. Said “leak’s” relevancy stems more from the traction it has gained and how it may shine a light on what is occurring between Sony and Konami. Not because it is inherently verifiable.
Do note that doesn’t mean it is unverifiable. Increasingly the mentioned Silent Hill production has been all but confirmed, as has Sony’s interest in acquiring additional franchises in their content wars with Microsoft. Thus take what you are about to read with a grain of salt more than ever.

Hello, I’m an employee from Konami (Sorry for my bad english).
I heard (for a little moment) that Sony wants to buy franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Castlevania. They want to remake MG1 and MG2: SS (just ideologically after the fifth part is suitable). Kojima is Involved. PS5 exclusive.
Silent Hill x Keiichiro Toyama (Sony, Gravity Rush/Siren/Silent Hill 1) x Masahiro Ita (https://twitter.com/adsk4/status/1213573816393203712). Soft reboot. PS5 exclusive. Maybe Ikumi Nakamura involved (She’s with SIE now)
Castlevania. Full reboot. Shutaro Iida x Koji Igarashi x Sony Japan project. Very bloodborne style. I think more like as Lords of Shadow. Not 2d. PS5 exclusive.
It bears little need to recover the Silent Hill leaks. Turning to the claimed Metal Gear remakes there is a palpable sense given Sony’s rumored interest in Silent Hill stemming from fan interest even after all these years.
If Sony is willing to go all-in because of interest in PT hasn’t waned then the massive interest in a remake of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake wouldn’t be out of the question. After five years away from the franchise, he helped create it is not out of the realm of possibility he would return in some capacity to Shepard the remakes of the remaining games.
Stemming from that argument it would make sense Sony would be interested in a new Castlevania series as well. After the success of the anime, up until it got woke, it would be a strong driving force for both companies to want to further capitalize on the series return to prominence.
At the end of the day, none of these rumored projects with names attached to them are verifiable, but at the same time, they all make logical sense from a corporate perspective. Only time will tell if these games will be PS5 and PC exclusives or if this is just a creative LARP by an anon.
