Sakuranomori Dreams, the horror-themed, moe-thriller from Moonstone is set to launch April 9th, 2020 on MangaGamer’s digital storefront, proving Corona-chan has nothing on moe visual novels!
The announcement of the release date was also accompanied by news that pre-orders for the visual novel have opened up over on the MangaGamer store page.
The game will launch for $44.95, but will be discounted during the launch week for $40.45.
The game centers around Fukigami Shinji, who is a student who has dreams of ghosts. One day he dreams of a childhood classmate who was murdered, and with her face unable to leave his dreams, he and his friends embark on a journey around the torn of Sakuranomori to find out what led to her death.
Things take a terrifying turn when they discover that it was more than just his classmate that was murdered, and they discover that monsters walk among them.
They end up in a race against to battle for the soul of the city, while everything unfolds in the world of dreams. Shinji and his friends will encounter unspeakable horrors that pose legitimate threats to their safety during their unraveling of the mysteries that lurk beneath the surface of Sakuranomori.
Moonstone’s title combines moe-inspired art with a horror-theme, which is a unique combination for a visual novel.
Along the way players will also be able to explore Shinji’s relationship with his female companions that lead into some explicit R18+ romance segments.
Given that there are lolis and school outfits, it’s unlikely we’ll see this title make its way onto Steam in any capacity. The added R18+ sex scenes involving incest guarantees that even if Moonstone tried to get the game approved for release on Steam it would likely be banned faster than their taste police could type out “child exploitation”.
Anyway, if you want to get your hands on Sakuranomori Dreams you can do so by visiting the Mangagamer store page.
