Resident Evil 3 Remake Sales Disappoint According To The UK Charts

Capcom has released Resident Evil 3 Remake for PC, PS4, and Xbox One back on April 3rd, 2020. With that said, taking a peek at the UK sales chart for the week ending April 4th, we learn that the game may have landed in the top three, but sales are nothing to write home about.

The top three games for this week’s chart consists of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and FIFA 20. Although the usual two games are in the top three, Resident Evil 3 Remake makes an appearance, although there’s a catch.

According to website gamesindustry.biz, Resident Evil 3 Remake sold fewer than half the number of units of last year’s Resident Evil 2 Remake. However, this shouldn’t come in as a surprise given the nature of the recently released remake.

Coming in fourth place on the chart is Animal Crossing: New Horizon. However, things aren’t looking too swell for the game this week in that it fell to number four with a 35% drop in sales week-over-week.

Nevertheless, you can check out the full list of games this week, as listed below:

As always, the first number represents this week’s placement. The second number serves as last week’s placement, while “New” stands for a new entry on the above list.

Furthermore, the report also highlights that over 350,000 games were sold last week. In other words, the initial number rose by 3% week-over-week, meaning more than one million physical titles have sold in the UK in the last three weeks.

Although there was an uptick in boxed sales, Resident Evil 3 Remake wasn’t cutting it in the sales department — seeing that numbers were fewer than half the units of last year’s Resident Evil 2 Remake.

As mentioned above, Resident Evil 3 Remake is out now since April 3rd, 2020, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
