Doogie Howser Reboot WIll Head To Disney Plus With Half-Asian Female Lead

Disney is rebooting Doogie Howser M.D. as Doogie Kealoha M.D., starring a half-Asian and half-white actress who will be a female teenage prodigy that goes on to become a medical doctor in Hawaii.

According to Variety the show is currently in development, and Doogie Kealoha M.D. is the working title. Whether or not it will revert back to Doogie Howser M.D. to cash in on nostalgia remains to be seen.

Kourtney Kang, a happa, will write the show and also work as the executive producer, helming the project. Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar will also help co-produce the show as executives. They’re also working under Disney’s recently acquired Fox brand, and funnily enough working from the same branch of Fox that produced the original Doogie Howser M.D. from between 1989 to 1993.

According to GameSpot, Kang is responsible for another Asian-themed comedy called Fresh Off The Boat, as well as working as a producer on How I Met Your Mother.

I’ve given up on being excited for any reboots or remakes. They’re all pozzed from the flesh down to the marrow.

The only thing you can hope for is that the new race and gender-swapped version of Doogie isn’t also a trans-lesbian, because that’s another popular token character trait they like to impose on legacy characters.

Disney is basically running around the track, kicking kids in the face, and flinging projectile diarrhea into the stands of nostalgia, taking every memory you enjoyed from your childhood and publicly sodomizing it in front of everyone; raping the dignity of creativity and stripping bare the body of artistic entertainment until there’s nothing left but a mind-broken whore of unsellable merchandise and completely forgettable movies that are over-produced and under-developed.

I have no hope for Doogie Kealoha M.D., but I expect a bunch of Centrists™ to defend the show with such tired and hackneyed responses such as “It might be good!” and “So long as Neil Patrick Harris has a cameo I’m fine with it!”, furthering the degeneration of classic media and the decrepit presence of corporate morbidity into every facet of entertainment.
