After the massive leak, Sony and Naughty Dog have taken to Twitter to inform those out of the loop that The Last of Us: Part 2 pre-order window is now open, despite said window being accessible ever since April 28th, 2020.
Some people are speculating that The Last of Us: Part 2 leaks have done enough damage that it warranted Sony and Naughty Dog to remind folks that pre-orders for the game are live. In other words, folks around the web think that so many people were canceling pre-orders due to the leaks that the publisher and developer are trying to recoup losses by advertising pre-orders for the game.
Whether you believe Sony and Naughty Dog are advertising pre-orders for The Last of Us: Part 2 or trying to salvage lost customers, what is for certain is that the publisher and developer are trying to remind people to pre-order the forthcoming sequel:

As mentioned above, the option to pre-order The Last of Us: Part 2 was up ever since April 28th, 2020. In fact, websites like dualshockers.com and playstationlifestyle.net offered information on the sequel after seeing pre-orders open back up — following the most recent delay from May 29th to June 19th, 2020.
Certainly, it’ll be interesting to see how the next installment in The Last of Us series performs on the market given what has recently turned up. Additionally, platforms such as the UK Sales Chart, the U.S. NPD Group, Famitsu, and other data tracking sites should offer a nice 30,000 foot-view on how the game performs at launch and beyond.
In the meantime, it looks like Sony and Naughty Dog are looking to inform gamers and fans alike about the option to pre-order The Last of Us: Part 2, which comes right after the massive leak.
With that said, the game will release worldwide for PS4 on June 19th, 2020.
