Game Valley, Egyptian Retailer Bans The Last Of Us 2 Due To Degeneracy

Egyptian retail outlet Game Valley announced publicly on June 19th, 2020 that they would not be carrying copies of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us 2, stating that it was an affront to God and did not represent the core values of Egyptian families.

An English version of the post was provided by Facebook’s translation software, where it reads…

“Due to the content of Last of us II that is incompatible with the legitimate ethics and values of Egyptian society, the Game Valley administration has decided to prevent the purchase or sale of copies of this game so that we do not participate or contribute to the spread of such acts or beliefs.

“Let’s also preserve the rights of Egyptian families not to watch content of this dishonorable type that is not in line with the customs and traditions of our society and we will never participate or contribute to the spread of vice in our society to preserve the traditions and public morals we were raised

“So sorry for selling any version of Last of us II”

Apparently Egyptians take a hard stance against propaganda getting into the hands of their youth.

For those of you unaware as to what Game Valley is referring to, one of the core themes of the game is is a lesbian relationship that Ellie has with a Jewish bisexual named Dina.

YouTuber BabyZone constructed all of their “romance” scenes into a collage that you can view below.

The game also features a qualm-inducing sex scene that’s highly disturbing and thoroughly degenerate in nature, especially given that it looks like two men are having horse sex, even though one of the characters is supposed to be a woman.

It should go without saying that Muslims aren’t fond of homosexuals, so I’m not sure why Sony thought they could pull a fast one by trying to put the game on the shelves of Middle-Eastern retailers. Moreover, back in late May it was reported that the game was blocked from releasing in Middle Eastern countries, specifically the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. So the move by Game Valley is not a surprising one.

Oh, and if you think that Egyptian gamers or followers of Game Valley were sad about the news, they weren’t.

Many Egyptians praised Game Valley for banning The Last of Us 2, calling it a “respectful decision” for a “respectful company”. You can view a few of the comments below.

As is typical of the internet, there are already memes circulating around the ban that Game Valley rolled out, with cheeky denizens of the internet using a line from The Prince of Egypt to mock The Last of Us 2’s ban at the hands of the Egyptian retailer.

It’s ironic because Sony has been forcing Japanese developers to censor their games, claiming that it was to “protect the youth“, even though it was more about depriving straight men of fan-service. But now that they’re attempting to force their propaganda into the hands and minds of other cultures, they’re finding themselves on the hard side of the censorship banhammer from cultures who consider their propaganda to be degenerate.
