Viacom Banned Five Episodes Of South Park From Streaming Deal With HBO Max

HBO Max is not the savior that victims of Disney Plus and Netflix’s censorship have been clamoring for. The streaming service was blocked by Viacom from accessing five episodes from Comedy Central’s South Park that satirize Islam’s Muhammad.

Content creator and comic book maker Raging Golden Eagle informed his audience about the censorship, letting them know right now that you probably don’t want to put any coins in HBO’s coffers if you value an increasingly endangered utilitarian species known as freedom.

HBO Min just keeps giving people reasons NOT to subscribe, just like Disney Minus!https://t.co/AKPaNeVKfJ

In the article on NME they point to a piece from Deadline, which explained…

“Sources tell Deadline the missing episodes were not part of the 23-season package shopped by Viacom to streamers last year, and Viacom had made the decision to exclude them in agreement with series producer South Park Studios before the show was licensed to HBO Max.”

It’s not made entirely clear if HBO was aware that the five episodes were taken off the table, if they requested the episodes to be taken off the table, or if it was entirely Viacom’s decision with no input from HBO at all.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t really matter since the end goal results in the episodes being censored and no longer available for airing on cable television, online portals, or streaming services.

For all intents and purposes, the episodes have been memory-holed from existence.

This is due to Muslims becoming infuriated with Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park, threatening their lives for mocking their prophet, Muhammad.

After Muslims killed the satirists at Charlie Hebdo, a lot of Leftists got scared and decided that making fun of Islam is now off the table.

This folks, is how comedy dies.
