Publisher and developer Slavic Magic is working on a new real-time-strategy medieval game that features city building mechanics dubbed “Manor Lords.” The game in question does not feature any current year propaganda, so far, but seeks to depict “historical references from 1100 to 1500 century Europe” for gamers to enjoy.
Manor Lords is a game that aims to provide a “gridless, organic city-building experience.” In other words, you can build and place items/objects down with full freedom and rotation. Additionally, folks can utilize snap tools for added precision to make a village or farm in a specific way.
Aside from farming and building mechanics, Manor Lords aims to portray conflicts that “feel real” with large scale unit formations, morale, flanking, fatigue, weather, and equipment that all have a purpose in battle.
With that said, Manor Lords‘ announcement trailer seems to stray away from what Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord has become — which promotes “stronk wahmen” nonsense. Anyway, you can check out the new trailer right here:
“Manor Lords is an upcoming medieval strategy game for PC that combines deep, organic and realistic city building with large scale, tactical battles.”
It’s worth noting that this game is the works of a solo dev using the Unreal Engine to bring Manor Lords to life. Moreover, the game in question is gearing up to release as an Early Access title sometime this fall.
It’s also worth noting that Manor Lords is a single-player game with no multiplayer or microtransactions. Hopefully, the game won’t be an unoptimized mess riddled with bugs and glitches. Nevertheless, time will tell how Manor Lords will pan out leading up to its launch.
Sadly, no word on modding has surfaced as of this writing, but it’s likely that this game will gain mod support sometime in the future. Lastly, you can learn more about this game by heading on over to its Steam page or main website.
