Way back in the middle of 2019 we reported that Lilith had plans to launch Taimanin Asagi 1 on Steam as an R18+ release. Those plans were dashed when Valve had the popular hentai-themed visual novel about sexy ninjas being subjected to depraved acts banned from the platform, leading many to question Valve’s intentions with their adult filters.
Later on Lilith re-released Taimanin Asagi 1 as Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial on Steam, but it was heavily censored with all the blood, gore, and sexually explicit material removed. Even still, the visual novel was rated as R18+ despite no longer containing any adult content.
The same thing applies to Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial, which is also available on the Steam store for free.
Some users have already confirmed over in the Steam forums that Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial has been censored much like Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial before it.
It was the only way Lilith was going to be allowed to have their game on Steam.

It’s unlikely that Lilith will be able to release the full games on Steam unless they essentially cut out all of the graphic content, which makes it a pointless endeavor since the visual novel was popularized for its H-content.
The bigger question is: what exactly was it that caused Valve to have a conniption over the Taimanin series and force Lilith to censor the highly popular erotic visual novel?
According to some older reports, it was because Valve stated that the games featured “young looking” characters and because in one scene they were depicted in what Valve considered to be school outfits.
As ludicrous as this all sounds, it’s part of Valve’s modus operandi now.
It basically means a lot of visual novels will get nixed from release on Steam due to some arbitrary predilection from Valve’s Taste Police against anime-style games aimed at straight male audiences.
It’s also why the Waifu Holocaust list just keeps expanding, even for all-ages outings that don’t contain sexual content or explicit material.
As for Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial, expect Lilith to use this outing and the previous one more-so as promotional material for their other works since they won’t be able to release the full versions of the visual novels on Steam due to the ridiculous censorship policies in place by the Taste Police.
