Nvidia has launched a free unboxing simulator on Steam celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the legendary GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card. The interactive retro demo invites players back to 2006 to relive the excitement of cracking open one of PC gaming's most iconic hardware releases.
In classic tech industry irony, the nostalgic showcase requires hefty modern hardware just to render an ancient GPU package. Minimum system requirements demand a baseline Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 alongside thirty-two gigabytes of DDR5 memory simply to unwrap the virtual cardboard.
If your modern rig meets the surprisingly steep hardware threshold, you can grab the celebratory tech demo at zero cost on Steam right now. Everyone else will have to stick to watching gameplay clips or digging their dusty G80 cards out of physical storage.
