On June 16th, 2019 Valve banned Villa Party from Steam. The 3D party simulator featuring raunchy sex scenes from developer Universal Game Studio never saw the light of day on Valve’s digital distribution platform. Valve didn’t say why they banned the game, but the reason seems pretty obvious.
According to the SteamDB entry there was never a store page because Valve never approved it. The app ID was registered back in April, and according to the game’s official website it was supposed to release in May. There was even an odd launch trailer put together to invite players to Villa Party, which you can check out below.
Now it should come as absolutely no surprise what the reason was for the game being banned.
Having a kid front and center as the host of a party themed around depraved and uncouth acts definitely seems like it might veer into Valve’s “child exploitation” rule. And given that Villa party likely contains the same level of explicit content as House Party, I can easily imagine Valve pulling the plug before even allowing the store page to go live.
According to the official website description, it states…
“We currently working on Villa Party adult video game. Villa Party is a party simulation game with adult scenes, many magic and surprises. The game has 3 parts and the first part will be released in May 2019 what run PC platform.”
I don’t know if the boy was involved in those adult scenes, but it seemed to hint at it based on the imagery.
The main website also still states that the game is releasing on Steam but that was supposed to take place back in May.
Whether or not it will actually release is a whole other story, but for now the developers are collecting funds for their “adult games” over on Patreon.
