Twitter Adds Shadowbanning To The Terms Of Service

For the longest, Twitter refused to acknowledge that they shadowbanned people. It was made quite obvious for anyone who was on the receiving end of the shadowban, as they saw their interactions and tweets almost come to a complete halt, and it’s been happening since at least 2016. In 2017, Twitter somewhat admitted to utilizing tools that shadowbanned users, but now they’re openly talking about restricting, suppressing, and censoring content at their own discretion… and it’s right there in the new terms of service.

Activist Post picked up the news from Securities Studies Group analyst David Reaboi, who tweeted out a passage from Twitter’s new terms of service set to go into effect on January 1st, 2020, as outlined on their TOS page.

Reaboi’s tweet was published on December 4th, 2019.

Last year, when I spoke to Twitter reps, they lied and gaslight us about their targeted manipulation of people’s tweets. Now it’s in their new TOS. https://t.co/dti7FSd1v6 nu, @RubinReport, we’re waiting for an alternative pic.twitter.com/W2LBYma3lU

The clause in question is under section 4, “Using The Services”, where it reads…

“[…] the Services may change from time to time, at our discretion. We may stop (permanently or temporarily) providing the Services or any features within the Services to you or to users generally. We also retain the right to create limits on use and storage at our sole discretion at any time. We may also remove or refuse to distribute any Content on the Services, limit distribution or visibility of any Content on the service, suspend or terminate users, and reclaim usernames without liability to you.”

Interestingly enough, Twitter admits that the shadowbans don’t apply to those living within the European Union.

The new terms of service are also accompanying stricter access (or more limited visibility) of NSFW content or adult material.

YouTuber ForNoGoodReason did a video about it, which you can view below.

There’s a lot of fear-mongering from far Left activists about Twitter decreasing visibility of NSFW content as well as being more restrictive towards fetish content, but since it’s Leftists, furries, and the typical degenerates getting their panties in a tizzy over it, I would prefer to wait to see how they handle the new sensitive material enforcement before assuming things will change in any significant way.

So far, most of the reports have come from anti-#GamerGate outlets like TheNextWeb and from people like Ana Valens and others within the typical circlejerk of Liberal Progressives. So take any of those reports with a huge grain of salt.
