Discord Public Channels Will Appear In Google Search Starting In December

Discord is officially turning its public servers into searchable web forums, allowing search engines like Google to index messages starting in December.

Anyone browsing the web will soon be able to search communities, browse discussions, and read player commentary without logging into an account or joining the server.

The search indexing applies specifically to public servers boasting over one thousand members, though administrators will have the option to disable it in settings.

Private servers will remain shielded from web crawlers, giving regular gaming groups peace of mind if they prefer to keep discussions strictly invite-only.
