Arrowhead Game Studios will not rush into developing Helldivers 3 until the team can deliver an experience fundamentally distinct from Helldivers 2.
Studio leadership noted that the biggest competitor to any future installment would be Helldivers 2 itself, largely due to its community-driven live-service model.
Rather than leaning heavily into aggressive monetization schemes, the current game relies on active players serving as the primary engine driving galactic warfare forward.
Until the studio conceives an entirely new gameplay foundation, developers plan to focus all their resources on expanding Helldivers 2 on PC and PlayStation 5.
