Mass Effect fans are refusing to let the sci-fi series fade away, gathering more than 210,000 signatures on an aggressive petition demanding Electronic Arts take action. The community campaign proposes either crowdfunding a true sequel or transferring the dormant intellectual property rights to another capable studio.
The petition received a major boost from Commander Shepard voice actors Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer, who both publicly backed the initiative. Their vocal support has energized an exhausted fanbase tired of endless restructuring delays, canceled prototypes, and EA's ongoing mismanagement of legacy single-player franchises.
Whether Electronic Arts executives will ever listen to the outcry remains doubtful, but the sheer momentum proves dedicated players are willing to finance the universe themselves.
