PlayStation Network users are facing a bizarre security vulnerability as bad actors find ways to link unauthorized child profiles directly to unsuspecting primary accounts without owner permission.
While the exact exploitation mechanism remains unclear, security analysts warn that hackers could leverage these rogue family profiles to bypass standard authentication, compromise payment methods, or hijack accounts entirely.
Console owners can block new profile creation by navigating to Family and Parental Controls, selecting Console Restrictions, and toggling User Creation and Guest Login to Not Allowed.
Unfortunately, players who have already had unwanted child profiles attached to their PSN profile cannot manually delete them and must contact Sony customer support directly for removal.
