Discord co-founder Stanislav Vishnevskiy has showcased a completely overhauled mobile client rewritten in Rust, demonstrating near-instantaneous startup times on aging smartphones.
The technical demonstration showcased the revamped application running side-by-side against the sluggish existing mobile client on a worn Android handset, effectively eliminating boot lag.
If you have grown tired of waiting through frustrating hang-ups just to check gaming chat rooms on the go, the lightweight client overhaul is slated to roll out publicly very soon.
