Grand Theft Auto VI anticipation has reached absurd heights according to a new survey detailing what players would sacrifice for early access. Research firm Unwind Media polled 1,347 American gamers on what habits and possessions they would surrender for a full month to play Rockstar's open-world crime epic one week ahead of launch.
The findings show that 63 percent of respondents would abandon dating apps, while 53 percent would give up alcohol and 43 percent would drop smoking. Furthermore, 42 percent said they would ditch social media, 21 percent would sacrifice sex, and seven percent admitted they would surrender their pet dog or cat for thirty days.
Fast food, morning coffee, and video streaming subscriptions also made the chopping block as desperate fans look for any edge to jump into Vice City. If you thought the hype around Rockstar Games was already unhinged, watching players willingly hand over their family pets sets a new benchmark for gaming consumer madness.
Grand Theft Auto VI remains officially scheduled to launch in fall 2025 across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
