Half-Life 2 Rebel Rush Event Draws Thousands For Massive Campaign Run

Half-Life 2 players have gathered for the annual Rebel Rush community event, tasking an army of simultaneous players with beating the iconic shooter together.

This year's event drew roughly 2,000 active participants, though hard engine limits restricted lobby capacities to around 400 players per instance.

Community organizers deployed dedicated high-end server hardware to keep desync and lag down while hundreds of Gordon Freemans stormed City 17 at once.
