Hideo Kojima's upcoming tactical espionage title Physint will reportedly center on a modern Cold War conflict driven by information warfare. The narrative explores high-stakes clashes between distinct intelligence disciplines fighting for digital and geopolitical supremacy.
The plot reportedly revolves around three primary intelligence operations consisting of HUMINT, SIGINT, and OSINT factions. Operatives will navigate missions involving boots-on-the-ground human intelligence, signals and electronic surveillance, alongside modern open-source web investigations.
Kojima Productions previously confirmed that Physint features an expansive universe backed by roughly eight hours of cinematics. If you were dreading another interactive movie, Kojima clearly intends to double down on his trademark cinematic excess.
The espionage project is currently in early development in collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation hardware, serving as a spiritual successor to the Metal Gear franchise.
