MachineGames and id Software are expanding their internal studio collaboration, fueling expectations that the two Bethesda teams are pairing up to build Wolfenstein 3. The partnership update comes directly from id Software studio head Marty Stratton, who confirmed both studios are working much closer together on future developments.
Both developers share extensive history under the Bethesda umbrella, with id Software previously providing id Tech engine expertise while MachineGames reinvented the classic Nazi-slaying shooter series with The New Order and The New Colossus. With MachineGames nearing the release cycle for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, opening room for a return to B.J. Blazkowicz makes logical sense.
If Stratton and MachineGames are indeed uniting their design teams, shooter fans might finally receive the trilogy-capping chapter they have demanded for nearly a decade.
