BioWare had reportedly targeted a late 2028 release window for a canceled Mass Effect project before internal restructuring derailed the production.
According to content creator Kala Elizabeth, the development team had established a complete creative vision featuring fully penned story arcs, hub locations, companions, and core questlines.
The scrapped pitch reportedly intended to respect all three divisive endings from Mass Effect 3 simultaneously without forcing one canon resolution onto longtime players.
Whether any of those narrative elements survive into the studio's next active sci-fi installment remains questionable under Electronic Arts' shifting corporate priorities.
