Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux have officially received native PlayStation 5 upgrades, offering free graphical and performance enhancements for existing owners. Both post-apocalyptic shooters now run at native 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, alongside an optional upscaled 4K 120Hz mode for high-refresh displays.
The technical overhaul introduces reworked lighting, upgraded particle effects, higher-resolution textures, and refined environmental animations across Artyom's underground adventures. Players jumping onto PlayStation 5 Pro hardware can also utilize Sony's PSSR 2.0 machine-learning upscaler to maintain pristine image quality during intense firefights.
The update also bakes in full DualSense controller support, delivering tactile haptics and adaptive trigger resistance when firing pneumatic rifles or pumping air pressure. Both upgraded editions are available now as direct digital downloads through the PlayStation Store for existing owners.
