Bend Studio reportedly plans to announce and release its next video game project next year according to details shared by MP1ST. The upcoming title is described as a cooperative multiplayer adventure that completely abandoned Sony's aggressive live-service model during development.
Sources close to the studio confirm the project is definitely not Days Gone 2, extinguishing immediate hopes for a continuation of Deacon St. John's post-apocalyptic saga. The game instead appears to be a smaller-scale experience built out of surviving assets from Mirror Pond, an internal shooter project that Sony previously cancelled.
Because the team repurposed foundational tech from that scrapped shooter, development has moved at an unusually rapid pace over the last few years. If the current release window holds, PlayStation 5 players can expect a formal reveal and immediate launch rollout sometime next year.
