The Golden Joystick Awards recapped its historical Game of the Year winners ahead of its upcoming ceremony, contrasting its player-driven ballots against The Game Awards. The retrospective highlights how everyday players frequently disagree with corporate-backed media juries.
Community voting between both ceremonies has aligned only a handful of times over the past decade, underscoring the deep disconnect between consumer sentiment and professional critics. Gamers can tune into the live broadcast this November to see which flagship release captures the community crown before winter awards season takes over.
