Netflix is partnering with Donald Glover to develop an official live-action television series based on Krafton's battle royale hit PUBG: Battlegrounds. The Atlanta and Mr. & Mrs. Smith star has signed on to direct the adaptation while also taking on the lead role.
His brother and longtime creative partner Stephen Glover will pen the script for the upcoming streaming project. While specific story details remain under wraps, the production aims to bring the tense survival mechanics and militaristic arena warfare of the game to television screens.
Netflix has not yet attached an official premiere date or release window to the live-action PUBG series. Players waiting to see familiar drop zones and pan-wielding skirmishes on screen will have to wait for further production updates.
